Steam Adding Non-game Software

4 posts in this topic

It looks like Steam is adding non-game software to it's array of features. It appears that they are broadening their horizons. Could this be good news for gamers who want to mod by being able to access expensive software without having to download it? Hard to say, but it seems likely such as Google with Google Docs and Picasa.

I`m not sure if this is a good idea or not, they sell games from other makers, and this has caused problems in the past with iffy software, if that is extended to other software ie none game related software it could be a real pain trying to sort out a problem.

The one thing I don't mind is there DRM its way better than secure rom.

Its a good read and interesting change in direction.

I like the idea. I've been considering getting Adobe After Effects and could use a version that's on sale.
