A few questions (first post)

Recommended Posts

i've noticed in the screenshots (the early ones) that some of the proportions of the characters are a bit off, eg. the hands are slightly too big compared to the weapon like so

http://www.groundbra...ts/stackup2.jpg (notice the guy on the right)

and http://www.groundbra...hots/clear2.jpg (also the guy on the right?)

anyways, i just wanted to know if this is an issue that will be resolved because i'm sure some people wouldn't want to play as a dude with frankenhands. sorry that i had to use your own resources against you lol but here's a little comparison

also, with the maps, how many multiplayer maps are we talking about here? and how many of them would have unique insertions ie waterborne, airborne, etc. and when is the next time we can donate/buy because i'm really looking forward to this game, i bet everyone else is too, sorry to sound like a hater but i just can't wait for this thing, good luck guys

Hi chicken_slayer.

Welcome! bye1.gif

Those are very old pictures since then Ground Branch has been redone from the ground up with better proportions etc. To answer your question about when you can give actual $. IIRC we will be able to donate/give soon after a "Tech Demo" is released which will be free for everyone to try out. The "Tech Demo" will have a lot of missing features in it but will give people a good idea of what BFS is aiming for. Right now the game only has two devs working on the project, John & Kris on which they work on their own free time at the same time they have families and regular jobs to tend to.IIRC once this game takes off John (The Creator and Founder of BFS) has plans to work on this game full time and hire more staff. The best thing we can do right now is spread the word about this awesome game that is coming out. Like their Facebook page and subscribe to the "News" section for updates. Here is a link to some of the videos https://www.youtube....y=Ground Branch do keep in mind though some of those videos are very old and was with UE3 at the time but they have upgraded the to UE4 which is helping a lot in the development of this game.

I hope this helps you.

btw how did you hear about this game?

thanks for the info guys, and i learnt about this game about a while back when takedown was on kickstarter (that game led me to this one), i also learnt about the other tactical fps games that were in development at the same time lol

also did you say that they moved to UE4? wouldn't that make it so it would take longer to release..?

The transition was done awhile ago.

i know this has probably been asked before, but has there been any word of a jacket/medal system? like in america's army?

This is just my personal preference: if it's like the one in AA, which was like a militarized version of achievements/trophies for bragging rights, self-glorification, or whatever other excuses, then I hope there won't be anything like it. I'm not very fond of developer-defined achievements/trophies.

That being said, I do like its use in qualification. For example, a server could allow only those who have passed basic training to join. Might sound like elitism but in my opinion a player should not be able to join a multiplayer match just to only then "discover" that WASD is used to move.

yeah i agree actually, qualifications would probably be better than medals

There won't be any achievements, but we will probably do something similar to military campaign badges or things like that. Nothing artificial or that you change the way you play the game to get (like get 50 headshots for the headshot badge). I'd just like something that shows what people have done in the game. Not for bragging rights but for respect and to get an idea of who the vets are.

It would be cool to, say, click on a player in the scoreboard and have an info field with their achievements, like the medals and ribbons and stuff veterans have on their chest at events.

What about something like this?

http://i61.tinypic.com/fc7afo.jpg

I'd like something less generic.

Actually something more like a psychological, behavioural report and personal evaluation, or so.

Say:

Behaviour: Aggressive (or Tactical, Predictive, etc)

Specialist in: Rifles / close range

Proficient in: Explosives

Precision: Very accurate

In team: Strongly team orientated

..etc

Less empty values and percentages, more like personal evaluation a supervisor would give.

That is the ultimate goal. Not sure when we will get there though.

For Ding Chavez it says Sniper 63 & Stealth 100.

Maybe Homer Johnston did a little bit better in "being a sneaky b*****d" since he's Sniper 100 & Stealth 100?

where did you dig up those rainbow profiles from?

"Where'd you dig up this guy?"

"That's classified."
