And ICRage, they have dealt with a herd before....I think it was the very first episode this season, when they were on the highway and hid under all the cars as the herd went by. That's when the girl ran off and got lost.

I dunno I think they have more planned for Merle? There was always a question if the girl survived however with Merle it was left as he defended himself and took the boxtruck. Even providing they thought he went back to the camp for revenge. No Merle but Zombies were there. Nothing was mentioned of Merle from that episode. Then he had a small stint with the ravine crawl.

But what they encountered wasnt a herd so to say......a large group yes, maybe 100 at most and I think thats exaggerating. In the comic they are talking about a whole town or for that matter a whole city. Now the numbers are 3,000 or more. In the last clip you see a range of zombies as far as the eye can see. Not a road width with a about 20 deep. That small group gave them an idea of a possibility of something that might happen and that they kinda group together.

Rick got a taste when he went into the city but imaging the size of what you didnt see or encountered because they were bottlenecked by buildings. They did show an overview of the massive size from above but this changes everything. They move like this too.

This whole idea was the kicker for me really. That of the comics or tv series. Could you just imaging going out for a hunt for food out in the forest and you start to see a couple here and there and by the time you start looking around your noticing they are comin from all angles leaving no point of escape.  What was 20 is now 300 then is 5000.  Nowhere is safe.

BTW was there any mention what the scientist said at the cdc to Rick? Ive rewatched the shows just to see if I missed it. Still havent seen what that was? Did they forget lol. Also where is the button or function for spoiler? Cant seem to find it.

Yeah I was wondering the exact same thing when I watched it last night.  Thanks for clearing it up Whisper.  I was just amazed at the speed in which he got back up too.  

Why hasn't the group tried to acquire a tank or some heavier military grade weapons?  There were a few throughout the City but it doesn't really indicate if they were usable.  I know only a few people could fit in one if they were overrun but a tank could easily roll right everything and make short work of the zombies.

Great ending to a mediocre season!

Michonne makes her appearance with her zombie "pets" and I'm guessing she'll play a role with T-Dog as a replacement for Tyrone.  Rick snaps at the group who's been nothing but a bunch of asshats towards him.  Lorie is as stupid as ever when she freaks out on Rick for killing Shane.  Rick lets the group know that everyone is infected.  The barn is over, and the prison is just on the horizon, literally.  Hopefully next season is better than this one, although the season 2 finale was, in my opinion, really well done.

I don't get what is with Rick's wife freaking out on him after he told her what happened to Shane?  Didn't she a few episodes ago elude to Rick the fact that Shane "must go" because he was endangering everyone?  Other than that I thought it was a good finale.  Not liking having to wait until the fall for more episodes.  This is what drives me nuts with episodic TV shows.......

Yes alot of zombie action. Was kinda disappointed it was at night tho. Would of liked to see how massive the herd was. They did give some good shots tho.

Good to see my favorite character pop in. Just in time to take Shanes place. With her being a new outsider Rick feels he can trust her better at the moment.

I just cant believe they spent a whole season on the farm?

I cant wait till they get to the prison it introduces more characters and gets rid of some of the old. But brings in some really cool ones. I still say once they are at the prison your gonna see Merle again but as the Guvenor.

I'm stoked about Michonne showing up as well.  Definitely one of the better characters.  And Merle is confirmed to come back, but he's not the Governor.  He's probably a member of the group that Randall was in though, and I'm sure they'll be in the prison with the Governors group, if not part of it.  He'll probably be a lackey of some sort, or maybe partnered with the Governor.  Michonne is being played by Danai Gurira, and the Governor is being played by David Morrissey.  With what Jenner said at the CDC, if you have the DVD or bluray copy, turn all sound off except for the center and listen in - he says 3 sentences - "We're all carriers.  It's in your blood."  The third is inaudible.

Looks pretty good so far.  Hopefully it's better than season 2 was.  Side note for TWD fans - if you haven't, I HIGHLY suggest you pick up The Walking Dead on Steam.  The storyline is by FAR better than anything they've done or alluded to in the TV show.

Now if they had a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th gear ala 28 Days/Weeks sure, but as it is, Breaking Bad gets my AMC vote for must see.

I'm in the opposite camp, I've always preferred the Romero zombies over speedy ones.  I liked 28 Days Later, but it's still not the same.

The Walking Dead took a turn for the worse when AMC booted Frank Darabont. It went downill fast after that and its certainly not as engrossing as it was when he was at the helm.

Breaking Bad is the superior show, IMHO.

Only two shows into the season but I'm liking this season a bit more then last season.  It feels more "survivalist/fight for your life/apocalypse" then last season.

I watch the shows the day after so I don't have to sit through commercials but I hate that it always feels like I've only watched 25-30 of the show.  There seems to be very little actual air time, but I guess it might be the fact that I'm eager to see what happens next that it goes by quickly.  I might just have to wait until the end of the season to watch any more episodes and then just sit down and watch them all before the finally.

No, I think everyone wanted Lori gone, I know I sure as hell did. Couldn't stand her half the time. (okay, all the time).

This season has been fantastic, except for the "character builder" of Episode 3

I couldn't stand her either. Extremely annoying character. I'm glad she's gone.
