Could some Diablo veteran(s) explain to me what is so interesting about this game? I never played the previous Diablo games, and it's a franchise that has been praised by so many, which triggers my interest. But when I look at gameplay videos it all looks very repetitive and seems like mouse-clicking your way though enemy hordes all the time. So I must be missing something, probably because I never played any previous titles. So what is this "thing" that make these Diablo games so great? What's the magic so to speak?
Really interested to hear about that

Honestly, in its most simplistic explaination; how you've described it is exactly what the game is all about.
The game is first and foremost a cooperative hack and slash RPG. You and your friends go into the giant world and battle hordes and hordes of (usually) undead enemies. Skill progression, itemization and character progression is what the Diablo series is all about. Crafting will be more involved this time around, but that falls under itemization.
It is nowhere near the most indepth RPG, but to me, it has always been one of the most enjoyable.
There's also another game similar to Diablo coming out called
Tera which seems to be a little more indepth when it comes to combat. I just don't know how the rest of the game will be. Call me a fanboy, but Blizzard just has a certain way of making games that makes them polished out of the box and they never stop supporting them. They are one of the few companies that care about the quality of their product.
But here's some videos of Tera at
Gametrailers.com if you want to check that out. It's what I call Diablo with more to it.
EDIT---
Tera is probably more like WoW than Diablo. I guess I have just been looking into it because it's another copp RPG which is what I have been craving lately.
