Det try it out for yourself, since Steam has a demo out apparently.

Just finished the demo. It wasn't good at all.

man that really is too bad. I was almost reconsidering the decision to not buy it after watching some new gameplay footage. Ill have to try out the demo also. The one thing that bothered me the most about the new game design mechanics is the whole cover system business. As if its too difficult for people to figure out for themselves what does / does not work as cover and change the stance of their player accordingly.

at least at the same time dishonored comes out so am crossing my fingers that one wont disappoint.

Are you picking up Dishonored for console or PC?

I was hoping for a PC demo just so I can give it a bit of a test run to see how it goes on the system. If not might consider getting it on the PS3. Though am tempted to just pre-order it on steam.

It looks like Bioshock - UE3, so I think it's safe to say, that it will run smooth on 4-5 years old rigs. I'm also considering this title.

Problem with PC games is cant really base how it will run off how it looks / what it was made from. Need to run it for ones self due to with just how PC gaming is in general everyone has their own problems. Safest route to make sure you save yourself from a lot of headache is if there is a demo out to test the game with first.

Nothing is a bigger kick to the dick than getting a new PC game and having to spend a ton of time getting it to run right. Esp when you have dev forums that are just flooded with all sorts of information making tech support almost impossible during launch.

If possibly anyways a demo is appreciated. For titles that I really want just got to bite the bullet if there isnt one which is whats going to happen with MOH:WF. But for Dishonored am hoping they bring out a short demo soon.

Overall the game does seem to be getting decent reviews. Though the reviews from "purists" seem to be less positive, then again thats expected.

Personally though at this point in time dont think Ill be picking it up.

It does seem to have all those graphical bugs that the reviews reported, but they're not game-breaking. The new gameplay system is different from Time Units, but it works okay. The game is definitely way, WAY less scary/creepy/horrifying than the original, but I enjoyed playing it to the end nonetheless. Just finished it on Normal. I don't think I can survive Impossible+Ironman but I'm too busy to bother trying that anytime soon anyway.

On to Dishonored.

Kept getting my arse handed too me in classic ironman mode - loved it, but get getting wiped out.
Grabbed a mod to fix some balance issues and bugs, then started again on classic, no ironman.
Enjoying it, despite some glitches and UI bugs.

Finished it in Classic Ironman, but lost about 5 campaigns in trying to do so. I'm all burned out.

Not bad, not bad at all. Dozens of things that could have been done better, but in the end, its a very good remake of a classic that I loved.

'The Second Wave' (free DLC) seems to be a step in the right direction, at least with regards to personalizing the difficulty:
Posted Image
  • Damage Roulette: Weapons have a wider range of damage.
  • New Economy: Randomized council member funding.
  • Not Created Equally: Rookies will have random starting stats.
  • Hidden Potential: As a soldier is promoted, stats increase randomly.
  • Red Fog: Combat wounds will degrade the soldier’s mission stats.
  • Absolutely Critical: A flanking shot guarantees a critical hit.
  • The Greater Good: Psionics can only be learned from interrogating a psionic alien.
  • Marathon: The game takes considerably longer to complete.
  • Results Driven: A country offers less funding as its panic level increases.
  • High Stakes: Random rewards for stopping alien abductions.
  • Diminishing Returns: Increased cost of satellite construction.
  • More Than Human: The psionic gift is extremely rare.
