Well, I think that Ubisoft may actually be helping indie studios such as this one. I've been playing a lot of Ravenshield lately. I love it. I have the 2.0 mod, which I love. I had an old pc which couldn't run it back when it was released, and jumped over to xbox. I missed the whole fallout about how they killed mods for that game. Slowly they have killed off their good games and have alienated their consumers.
This game and this company could really make its mark by delivering this game. Guys like me have worn out BF3, and are looking at the current state of games with apathy. I'm tired of having to take three head shots for a kill, or putting three 7.62mm rounds center mass, only to have the guy turn around and shoot me dead.
Since Takedown and Ground Branch were announced, I almost feel bad for Ubisoft. They had a loyal group of gamers who loved their games, and they gave it all away. Soon these games will come out, and they will be huge, and they will have zero competition. There will be mod support too. I see these games going on for years. Heck, R6 came out 14 years ago.
If these guys do what they say and produce the game that they say, it will be huge. Mostly because people are absolutely itching for these games. But also because people want to root for and support the good guys. Ubisoft and EA are only helping this cause.

True, what is their loss is our gain.
But The FIRST KS campaign didn`t bring those players in at least in no great numbers.
You can put money on UBI making bad games its now in there DNA.

Who cares how many people pirate your game? What you should care about is how many people buy it. Sure it's hard to check and that's why all the arguments exist, but checking quite unrelated data (that probably isn't even anywhere near accurate anyway) is not helping anyone.
Heck, if nobody pirated my game I'd be sad because it meant it sucked so bad it wasn't even worthy of the hackers' time.

Companies like Ubi see things far too black and white. Had X player not been able to pirate Y game, they would have purchased it. That is obviously false. I'm sure some people would buy a game if they were unable to obtain it illegally, but most would just jump to a different game.
I'm sure if Honda made their cars to be steal-proof that is wouldn't impact how many people walked into the dealerships.
