John, you need to release the YT KS vid from private to public ASAP.

I can't put that out to my 4000+ subscribes until you do. FYI, I probably received 600+ PM's concerning that channel front-paged video alone when it went public back on April 16th.
I believe the YT video is just for a high res version and they like people to go the KS page to view it. But yeah, I can see how adding it to your YT channel will generate extra interest. I would also do the same on Tangodown channel if it's a public video (not so many subscribers though Posted Image)

If we only could reach Notch, somehow Posted Image

As crazy as it sounds perhaps notch would be willing, if we offered something in return, say a bunch from the community go and purchase minecraft or something. Do some sort of pool of funds then a big ass bulk purchase of licenses.

They merged it with the initial GB thread and then locked it.

http://forums.bistud...d-Branch/page12

I've been visiting the BIS forums before they moved and didn't start posting until around the time ArmA 2 came out.  I've been going there less and less because of this attitude over there, and it's not just GB either.

That is one of the reasons W0lle hasn't been around as much as he used to, and that guy has been a mod over there for the better part of a decade.

Either way, is there a thread over there for GB that hasn't been closed?

John could put a KS link in the video description.

Don't think that is very smart.  By disabling the embedding of the video you end up annoying potential backers.  If people are interested enough to make a pledge after watching the video I think they would be willing to go the extra mile and visit the Kickstarter page.  Without them being able to see the embedded video at all, chances are you lose some potential here.

After all, it's never good to try and force people to do anything.  Starts the relationship on the wrong footing.  Just my 2 ct.

Good point, that indeed is something to think about.

Yeah, they really haven't been to happy with the GB threads over there.

The problem with BIS forums is that is full of fanatics (just like the IL-2 community) and unless is a BIS product they will discard it or will not take GB seriously for what ever reason.
and this come from a person that owns all their games including VBS2
Good things come to those who wait

Personally I think something like this needs to come from the person himself if he thinks it's worth mentioning, and not with "bribing" if you understand what I mean :)

I dont see it as bribing, more as showing a community is willing to support another. Two way street is how the world works and all that is what I say. Bribing, would be more trying to offer Notch a nice new "shiny & expensive" hat. ;)

Just to be sure we're talking about the same thing: you can post the link of the YT video and anyone can view it.

But yeah, it's definitely something to re-consider indeed, especially the option to add the video to peoples YT channel.

Embedding a video has a much larger impact than just a YT link.  It draws attention and offers people a more convenient way to get initial information.

Bunch of you guys are already at GR.net spreading the word in the existing thread. So might want to add that to the OP list too.

It would be awesome if Rocky over at Ghostrecon.net had a News article on the front page about the Kickstarter. Anyone friend's with him?

My understanding is that he is heavily invested in another project...

Add my Simhq link to the OP:

Magnum's Simhq link:

http://hardforum.com...d.php?t=1696849

I made a suggestion to merge the GB threads there. We'll see what the mods do.

Get Magnum to do a Simhq front page article. I'll suggest it in the Simhq forum.

Thanks guys, for trying to get the word out.  We're going to need a lot of that.

We're reassessing our layout, our strategy and everything else that's been mentioned.  Like John said, we don't want to clutter our rewards any more than we have to, but we will look into adding another gifting tier.

Stay tuned.
