First of all, thank you to everyone who contributed towards the Kickstarter campaign; either by financial means, or by word of mouth. If anything, at least you are are now aware that there is a studio out there that is attempting to bring back a style of game and a mentality that has been long absent from the PC gaming scene. Blackfoot Studios, the independent development studio lead by veteran developer John Sonedecker, has revealed the location of its forward operations base for its premiere title, Ground Branch.

Like the men the game is based on, Ground Branch has snuck in under the radar. In quiet development for several years, Sonedecker and his team of industry veterans and real life military badasses have been putting together a gaming experience like no other. Promising to restore ‘tactical realism’ to the first person shooter genre, Ground Branch will bring back gameplay that rewards the intelligent and courageous operative, and punishes those simply answering the call of duty.

In 2004, the industry witnessed the opening of BlackFoot Studios, an independent development studio created by John Sonedecker, former Lead Artist for Red Storm Entertainment and one of the driving forces behind the award winning Ghost Recon series.

John’s professional career in game design and development spans over a decade of involvement and influence in high profile projects including several Triple A Tom Clancy titles, and developing tactical simulations for the military.
